Oracle XE auf Linux-Server installieren

Oracle gibt es auch ein Einsteiger-Paket: Oracle-XE.

Das Paket gibt es für Linux und Windows.

Für den Download benötigt man ein einen Account bei Oracle. Dieser Account ist kostenlos.

Installation

Vorsicht Falle!

Nach dem Download der Datei, könnte man die Datei auch anklicken und Suse 11 erkennt das Installationspaket und schlägt sogar vor, die Datei mit YAST zu installieren.

Bei mir hat das nicht funktioniert, bzw. nur halb. Es sah so aus, als wäre alles OK. Aber es hat wohl die Hälfte gefehlt.

Installation über Systemkonsole

Also habe ich alles wieder gelöscht, und mich anschließend an der Systemkonsole (als root) angemeldet und wie bei Oracle in der Anleitung beschrieben:

rpm -ivh tmp/oracle-xe-iniv-10.2.0.1-1.0.i386.rpm

eingegeben.

Ups! Oracle-XE vermisst etwas? Soweit reicht mein Englisch, dann gebe ich das mal ein, was da steht:

Dann mußte ich die Ports eingeben, dabei habe ich jeweils die Vorgabe bestätigt. Das Passwort 2 mal eingeben und fertig.

Den Link muss man sich nicht selbst merken, unter Anwendungen gibt es jetzt ein Icon: ein Fass mit XE dran (Oracle Database 10g Express Edition). Ein Klick darauf und bei den Unterpunkten steht auch der Punkt - Gehe zu Datenbank - Homepage. Das ist identisch der angegebene Link von der Installation.

Jetzt mit System + das eben vergebene Passwort anmelden und es kann losgehen.
